Who is Berwick Insurance Group?
Berwick Insurance Group was started in 1997 by two brothers specializing in Health and Life insurance products. In 2004, Berwick Insurance Group became an NMA with United Healthcare and started to organize a solid team of professionals to recruit and support agents in building their Medicare business.

Berwick Insurance Group is designated as an NMA. What is that?
This is the designation given by United Healthcare to their top Field Marketing Organization (FMO) producers in the U.S.  Berwick Insurance Group is very proud to be a part of this very select list. It is a great honor knowing that we have earned this designation when the other agencies designated as NMAs have been in the industry for decades. I think it says a lot about who we are and what we do for our agents!

What makes Berwick Insurance Group different from other organizations?
The Berwicks have built this business on old fashioned values. Be upfront, be honest, be ethical, do what you say you are going to do, and make sure our agents have the training and support that sets us apart from the crowd. We have built our reputation on these principles and strive every day to uphold them.

Do you give free leads?
A free lead is a misnomer and is a marketing ploy used to gather agents in the recruiting process. By being honest about leads and marketing, you will have a realistic expectation of how you can compliantly get leads. We want you to be in this business for a long time, and by teaching you how to market and get leads, you will not be disenfranchised by empty promises.

Where do I get my leads?
Leads can come from many sources and we will teach you how to get those leads in a way that will not compromise the CMS regulations or your license. We offer training on all parts of this business and partner with you to make sure you have a comprehensive understanding. We do get leads that we will give to our agents, but we never promise you leads as a way to entice you. Honesty is the best policy here at Berwick.

I heard that Medicare insurance is booming. Is that correct?
Absolutely! With 10,000 people a day turning 65, there are multitudes of opportunities for agents to increase their bottom lines. Selling Medicare Advantage (MA), Medicare Supplement and Prescription Drug Plans (PDP) that have residuals of up to 10 years can be incredibly lucrative!

I heard that AEP is the most lucrative time of the year to sell Medicare plans. Is that true?
With about 49 million people enrolled in Medicare, this is indeed a time of year where every one of those people has the ability to change plans. Since this period of time is only 7 weeks long, it can be a very busy time for agents.

Is selling Medicare insurance plans available year around?
Most definitely! Many agents are selling year around because of the amount of people turning 65 every day! The commissions are good, residuals are great, and it helps to provide a steady and lucrative income stream for the future!

What does it cost to work with you?
There is no cost to partner with us to build your business.  If there are specific fees to work with a carrier, you will be told about them up front. We will not charge you for our training or assistance, nor do we have any hidden fees of any kind.

How many carriers do you work with?
We work with the top Medicare carriers in the industry. When you understand that one out of every five people in the U.S. has a Medicare plan with UnitedHealthcare, you can see that it is the flagship contract in the industry. The second largest carrier in Medicare is Humana, which we also carry.  Berwick has other reputable carriers as well, such as Mutual of Omaha and Anthem BCBS.  We constantly evaluate the market to determine if there is another national company that should be in our portfolio.

Other companies have many carriers, why do you work with just a few?
Berwick Insurance Group evaluates the carriers and aligns itself with those that are very well respected, and that have good industry reputations for being consistent in their benefits and their ability to pay claims.  We feel that it is unnecessary and often a waste of time to have contracts with a bunch of carriers when those at the top are often the ones that are sold anyway. You do not make money contracting, so don’t spend your time contracting and certifying on plans that you probably will never sell.

What if I find a carrier I want to sell, but you don’t offer that contract?
That is not a problem.  Berwick encourages you to get any contracts that you feel you need for your specific market. We do not hold you captive to sell only our contracted carriers. It is our experience that small carriers have a benefit package that tends to yo-yo from year to year. We will teach you why you don’t want to write for those kinds of carriers.

In how many states are you contracted?
Berwick Insurance Group is contracted in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

I am an independent agent, can I contract with Berwick?
Absolutely, and we have a very large group of agents that are independent and successful. By utilizing our expertise and training in the Medicare market, you will quickly learn the best way to build your business.

I am a part of an Agency that wants to add Medicare to our portfolio. What do I need to do?

We process an incredible number of contracts per year and can assist you in determining the best contract for your agency. What sets you apart from your competition?
We feel that one of our biggest assets is availability. We usually respond to questions within a few minutes or hours, not a few days or weeks. We know that pressing questions come up during the sales process or in regards to your commissions. You have access to us after hours and weekends to help you get the job done right!

Who pays my commissions?
We prefer that you be paid directly by the carriers and we set it up this way whenever it is possible. We do not believe in touching any part of your money, or delaying your paycheck in any way. Many competitors do not have the agents paid directly.
